Most everyone who is looking to get inked wants to find that one special and unique tattoo. And each person’s concept of what makes a tattoo unique is as different as the designs available. Some people believe that the placement of the tattoo makes it unique. Other people believe that the coloring or shading is the key. There are those who use ancient symbols to add personality to their designs and still others who use something straight out of pop culture. And the latter category is what I really want to talk about. The unique tattoo in the picture is about as pop culture as you can get. I like to think of it as a homage to the video games of days past. All the classic video game characters are represented in a totem style representation that is as fun as the games were to play. At the bottom of this unique tattoo totem you have Pong, followed by one of the aliens from Space Invaders. On top of that is the cute little frog from Frogger. The totem is completed with the addition of the ghost from Pac Man and Mario from Super Mario Brothers. Now, if that’s not a unique tattoo I don’t know what is!
I have been noticing a lot of unique tattoos like this skull and serpent tattoo. These tattoos are perfect for sides of the legs and great for the forearms. This artist has done a brilliant job on the skull, I think the serpent could have been highlighted a little better, but that’s just my opinion. Some people like certain parts of their unique tattoos to be a little duller than the rest of the tattoo. I have seen a lot of unique tattoos like this one as art on quite a few cars and trucks around here.
One tattoo artist I saw at a restaurant one night had the same unique tattoos on his little car that he did on his body. Now that is pretty damn cool if you ask me. Him and his wife had some great unique tattoos of the transformers from the movies, all those tattoos were very cool. When I was talking to him and his wife about their tattoos they told me they were doing a lot of unique tattoos native to the areas customers were from. Example he said one guy wanted a monster turkey as a tattoo that was from some place in Kentucky.
